To apply for a scholarship or to learn more about donating, email jon@wildernessodyssey.com. At a minimum, one-fifth of all participants will receive scholarships through grants and donations.

At Wilderness Odyssey we recognize that coping with a troubled teen is perhaps the most frightening experience many parents will have. It is crucial to be informed and we congratulate you on taking the time to research your options. We would also like to encourage you to ask the important and tough questions of the programs you consider such as: the number of staff they provide per teen, the requirements for staff credentials and therapist's licensing, their safety record and their plan for keeping the family informed and involved throughout the program.

Finally, we recommend that you decide if the values and beliefs of the organization are a good fit for your family. Wilderness Odyssey is a non-profit, 501(c)(3) organization, which by definition means that our purpose must benefit the community and society as a whole. In this circle, the community gives us donations and grants so that we can offer an outstanding 42 day Wilderness Therapy program to help teens find their own powerful and positive place within their families and then within society. Our non -profit status allows us to create a program that is 100% focused on the needs of each individual and their family.

Exclusions
There are a number of psychiatric, emotional, and behavioral conditions that may preclude admission and thereby warrant further evaluation by the treatment team:

• Antisocial personality disorder
  
• Dissociative disorder
  
• Extreme suicide risk
  
• History or potential for violence
  
• Intermittent explosive disorder
  
• Personality disorders
  
• Psychosis
  
• Severe chronic depression
  
• Severe eating disorders
  
• Severe self-mutilation
